๐Solution Overview
Our solution will revolutionize the voluntary carbon offset market by leveraging innovations across 3 key pillars: Additionality, Transparency, and Scalability. We have carefully analyzed the systemic problems in the carbon offset market and architected a solution that addresses these key problems. A successful implementation of these solutions holds the promise to radically improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and rate of regenerative carbon offset projects.
Additionality
Additionality applies only when a project creates carbon offsets that would not have otherwise existed without the funding of that project. To put it more simply, we focus on planting new trees, rather than counting existing trees. While there is a lot of important work being done in the field of conservation, we have a different focus that is deeply embedded into our design.
Our focus on additionality ensures that our projects are creating genuine impact, as a prerequisite for being included in our economic system. We will mint tokens proportional to the potential of new projects that meet our criteria and are approved in the system, and we will issue those tokens as real actions are taken and verified to achieve that potential.
Transparency
Transparency means that everyone will have the ability to see and analyze how our ecosystem functions at every level: from the tokens to the seeds to the trees and their caretakers. Blockchain technologies create immutable public ledgers of all tokenized transactions that can be viewed in real time by the public and analyzed to provide invaluable insights into our economy.
Additionally, we leverage QR codes to track seeds from the forests where they are collected, to the nurseries that will sprout them, onto the new land where they will be planted. Once the trees are planted we use drones powered by AI computer vision to map the trees locations on the earth, and then periodically verify its presence, health, and growth by resending the drone to update the maps. This system provides full, end to end traceability for this multistage process.
Scalability
Scalability is achieved by having an efficient, low cost, high output system that is based on win-win-win scenarios. Our economic growth model is pegged to our environmental impact, meaning that as we grow real value via tree planting and other similar activities, that value is distributed throughout the network. In order for our system to scale well, we have to ensure that all participants benefit proportionally to their contributions, in a way that encourages further engagement and contribution over the long term. Additionally, our model is decentralized, giving our community members and stakeholders the autonomy needed to propose, fund, and operate new projects within our ecosystem.
The Eco30 infrastructure is largely software based, meaning that once itโs built, anyone can utilize it around the world to support local projects, making it inclusive by design. Once the functionality of the system is verified through tree planting, the same infrastructure will naturally extend to other ecological restoration projects such as biodiversity preservation, restoring coral reefs, and other planet positive practices such as clean energy installations and environmental remediation.
